Friendships

I've noticed over the last 2 weeks (co-incidentally 2 weeks since the HSC), that i'm just loosing touch with some of my friends at school. And when the opportunity does arise it's "Hey come to schoolies!", or "We'll go to the pub sometime"

Which that is all fine and dandy but just really doesn't give it a real chance, i can't really just go out to where-ever and just spend like $1000+ just to hang out (house rental, petrol, food, booze, spending, etc), because to put it simply i don't work and my parents really didn't want me to go to schoolies in the first place (not that we were going to QLD anyways). And going to the pub sometime doesn't really do me either, i can't just drive home after slugging down a beer.

The point is, why can't we just hang out normally? Without the need to go and rent out a house for a week or go to the pub and drink. Sure it's a nice excuse to hang out but it just excludes people that aren't 18 and it's a complication to hanging out.

Someone i know will say "Hey why didn't you go to the Beach yesterday?" Because some people in my grade did that yesterday. To put it in simple terms, i just don't really like that a group of what... 20-30 people went to the group, and i barely like most of them anyways. Like they're these "Facebraggers" a term my friend Michael has coined. Where it's just a bunch  of bragging about getting hammered over Facebook and starting fights with each other... Over Facebook.

I just don't understand people's need to have an excuse to hang out anymore. Just hang out seriously. There is no need for a special occasion except it's an excuse to drink or spend.

Just to put this out there.
But i'm not a social isolate, i have been hanging out with some friends since the HSC and it's been fun! I just question the people i have been hanging out with for the last year or two who i know as my friends.

  1. Ah dude, if I was in your year with you at this time I would be feeling the same way. I don't really like the beach or getting trash-hammered drunk and that's what everyone seems to do when they finish school, kind of lame actually.

Peoples minds aren't going to change though, there just seems to be some odd fascination with not remembering the "fun" you had in a night that I am yet to understand.
